"Basildon mental health unit"

About: Basildon University Hospital

I was shocked how cold and unhomely the Mental health unit at Basildon hospital was when i went to visit my friend.

Not only had my friend had no leave for 5 days because the consultant had forgotten to do their leave form, which i was informed by the nurses but the nurses seemed to take no concern in this matter - fresh air and exercise is known to have very good impact on mental well-being, therefore their lack of concern was shocking. I was then to observe how little if at all the nurses spoke to any patients - talking is also known to be good for mental well-being, it was so shocking i questioned heavily what help and therapy you are providing patients or is the unit a prison and the nurses glorified prison officers.

Shocking, shocking, shocking.

And what is sad is the staff are immune to the pain the system itself inflicts. I just hope my friend leaves soon before you make her more unwell.
