What could be improved
a+e reception staff training should be better
Anything else?
I was referred for a blood test from a walk in center ,told to go to a+e reception where the nurse at the walk in center had previously called and arranged for me to be seen and faxed a letter of explanation. The receptionist at a+e told me that a+e do not do blood tests and that there was no details of my refferal so i should go to the 1st floor for blood a blood test which was totally the wrong information, so i came back to a+e to find both receptionists arranging flowers for someone and ignoring the fact that their were people waiting to be dealt with.the final outcome was that i was sent to wait for triage for a second time.when eventually seen at triage again i was told the wait to see a doctor was long so after getting the runaround all afternoon i had to come home to collect my children with my infected knee worse than it was when i started and still not seen a doctor
