"Do not go to this A&E with burns"

About: Darent Valley Hospital / Accident and emergency

Avoid this A&E at all costs if you can. I had a problem with an existing burn. Had 1 layer of jelonet put on my burn, which is only ok on day 1 (as I was told by the nurse in another hospital who had to sort out this mess) but my burn was already 5 days old. So the dressing got stuck to raw flesh and I was in agony for 2 days, it had to be soaked off in a London hospital. Also it was changed by a doctor who obviously did not care about hygiene or aseptic technique, did not clean their hands before changing the dressing, used the same gloves to write, take off old dressing, find and put a new one, and type on PC. Shameful really.

We are sorry to hear about your experience as it certainly does sound painful. We are a little unclear as to the order of events as your feedback mentions a doctor, but does not reference whether that was at Darent Valley Hospital or at the London hospital.

We do hope that you are recovering well now.

Kind regards
