"Not a good hospital"

About: Darent Valley Hospital / Maternity

I gave birth at this hospitaland I sincerely regret it. I was treated very badly by the staff when I went into labor. On a number of occasions I found myself on the toilet floor trying to push as the staff were just not helpful. I arrived there 5 cm dilated and they kept saying they had no pain relief available. The nurses kept saying the doctors are in surgery and so I has to wait until they were done. After 3 hours when I was in severe pain I went to the toilet I tried pushing that's when the nurse said the doctors were available but by that time I was 10cm. It was a traumatic experience and one that you should not be.

We were sorry to read your review, this is not the experience we would wish for any new mum. Please can you contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01322 428383 or email dgt-tr.pals@nhs.net so we can investigate further the concerns you have highlighted.

Thank you
