"Starting uni"

About: City Health Care Partnership CIC

(as the patient),

I'd probably had symptoms and behaviours that indicated depressed mood before I even left for uni, but being away from home, a heavier workload on top of socialising and making new friends just brought me to a tipping point and after initially failing my first year, I had a major incident that made me decide to get help. I went to talk to my GP who referred me onto Let's Talk here in Hull. After an initial assessment, I went onto CBT which I attended in my university union buildings, which meant I didn't have to worry about travelling, and could arrange it to be convenient to me, although this clinic only operated on tuesdays. However, I could choose where in the city I went for the CBT and there were a range of other venues with various other days.

In the end, I know I've got a long way to go, but I feel equipped to keep moving forward myself and reassured that I have a great service behind me if I did need help further down the line.
