"Fairly disapointed"

About: Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital

Due to be induced here but got told they had no beds, went into labour myself the same night so headed down my first inpresion was ok but felt the staff were really low and rushed of there feet, couldnt really fault my care although would of liked the midwifes to be more about the phsical side than the paper work, and to be in the room a little more

Dear Madam,

Congratulations on the birth of your baby – such an exciting time for you and your family.

I am so glad you received the care you needed during your labour, but I am very sorry that you felt that the staff were low and rushed. Although the staff can be extremely busy I can assure you that they always work very hard to provide the best care possible.

I am also sorry that you felt the midwives were spending a lot of time on their paperwork and could have spent more time on the physical side of care. Accurate and complete documentation of care is an essential part of providing safe and high quality care, but I also understand that it can be frustrating at times and of course you should feel that the midwives have time to spend with you and your baby.

I will make sure that your comments get passed on to the maternity team so that they can learn from your review.

All the best,

Jessica
