"Passed around staff without getting any closer to treatment"

About: Dermatology Clinic Victoria Community Hospital Wessex

(as the patient),

I've had a small, painless lump for years. More recently it has become painful to touch, so decided to see doctor.

Had 'interview' over the phone with GP receptionist. They said I needed to see just a prescribing nurse. Saw nurse. They said I needed to see doctor. Saw doctor who was clearly not interested, but said I should go to hospital for an examination.

Saw hospital receptionist who sent me to another hospital receptionist who sent me to have an x-ray. Saw specialist who said an x-ray was useless and I should have an ultrasound. Saw hospital receptionist (again) who sent me to ultrasound reception who sent me to get an ultrasound.

Saw ultrasound specialist who said I had a lump on my hand, which I kind of knew. Am now, 4 months later, waiting appointment to see another specialist to interpret the ultrasound, presumably (and hopefully) followed by somebody who will actually do something about removing the lump.

I really wish I could get a refund of my 50 years payments into the NHS and invest in a private scheme. My experience has been rubbish.
