"Phone number for Podiatry Services does not work"

About: Adult Specialist Services / Podiatry

(as a service user),

Having used the podiatry service for several years, I was recently notified that from October 1st 2016, a new system would be in operation. The letter contained a new phone number, 0300 300 0100, to contact to arrange my next appointment. I left my call for a couple of days thinking it would be busy the first couple of days. Imagine my surprise when the number appeared to be either unobtainable or non existent. I tried several times more with no success. On ringing the old podiatry, I was given 2 Mansfield numbers to ring, 01623 785186 & 01623 785208, both of which rang engaged for the next hour. I then tried to get hold of the named consultant on my letter, but again with no success. So it appears that the Podiatry Service has improved to the point where it now does not exist, and if it does it cannot be contacted. And, oh, the letter heading has the word "positive" at the top.

Dear Reviewer,

We're sorry to hear about your concerns. Can you please confirm the name of the organisation on the letter, as we believe you may be looking for another Trust. If you email communications@uhl-tr.nhs.uk then we can look into this for you.

Kind regards,

Please accept my sincerest apology for your experience with our service. unfortanately the phones have been overwhelmed and we are working to resolve this issue. The service is texting new numbers out to patients. Patients that do not have access to a mobile phone will receive a letter with the updated information.
