"Quick thinking by midwives saved my life"

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Obstetrics (Maternity care)

(as the patient),

I hope this reaches those I really want to see it...I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy at 2:23am with the help of midwife Sharon and student midwife Lisa.

Ultimately it was their quick thinking and action that enabled the team to save my life. I lost 4l of blood that morning and I am so grateful to all those involved.

We received some wonderful care at AMH from labour ward to Ashgrove. I cannot thank the ladies involved enough, without you we would not be here.

Dear Sfal

Congratulations on the birth of your wee boy!

Many thanks for taking the time to post your feedback on Patient Opinion. You must have been very frightened when you were losing so much blood. Staff are trained to deal with such emergencies but for you it must have been very scary indeed. I am so glad to hear that you are all fine now and I will make sure your story is shared with the staff at AMH. The will be delighted to receive your feedback.

Good luck with the little one and thank you again.

Kind regards,

Thank you so much for passing this on. To be honest I wasn't really aware of how serious it was at the time which was probably for the best. Knowing now what they did for us, wow we cannot ever thank them enough.
