"Full hystercetomy, suspicion of cancer."

About: Royal Preston Hospital / Gynaecology

First thing - you don't find out until evening before what time you need to be in for op. It seems it can be as early as 7.00am, so be prepared if you live far away, like me. I booked a B and B for the night before. Once in hospital, I was treated very well. Considering that the staff are looking after your physical needs, whilst at the same time trying to be sensitive to whatever emotional reactions you might be having, I think they do an amazing job. Lots of students around, but we need them to learn, right? They too, were very courteous. The surgeon was very clear and compassionate in their approach and I had great confidence in them. It was my first time staying in a hospital, it opened my eyes, maybe I just love the NHS....so much given freely to everyone....a very special environment.
