I just wanted to share my story and let you know that you have a valued member of staff Nurse Helen.

I had came into Hospital last week for an operation on my eyes and I was very nervous and scared. I remember I wasn’t the first patient to be taken and watched other go in and come out with swollen eyes and blood. When It was my turn to go in, Helen came in with me talked to me to keep me calm and held my hand as she could tell I was really scared.

It’s great to see such wonderful staff that really care about their patients and Helen is a credit to you and the Cataract unit so keep hold of her.

Please can you pass on my thanks to Helen as she really made a difference to me that day and others I would say as I watched her speaking to other patients putting their minds at ease.

I would like this information to be passed on to Helen and her managers above as she deserves recognition for the good work she does.

Dear Rosekelly,

Thank you so much for the kind remarks about Helen and the staff after your recent visit to the cataract unit, I will definitely let Helen know of your kind remarks. Helen will be delighted that she made such a difference to you and other patients as this is a new role for Helen who has undertaken extra training to be able to support patients when they go into ophthalmology theatre.

I hope you have recovered from your surgery and once again thank you for taking the time to go onto the patient opinion website. The ophthalmology team really appreciate the feedback.
