"Knee injury - lack of advice"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency Lincoln County Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

Recently: Injured knee (ligaments). Visited A&E, was given 2 paracetamol, x-ray, crutches, bandage and was booked in at fracture clinic a week later. Was happy with service, I understand not much can be done at 11pm.

One week later: Was seen by a doctor who did a couple of movements on my knee. Told me I had a sprain. He told me to remain on crutches for further 2 weeks (no weight baring) and book back in for 4 weeks time.

I was shocked there was no advice on exercises / strengthening techniques / rest advice or referral to a physio. I'm now waiting 4 weeks with no advice / idea on how to ensure there's no long lasting damage and my knee returns to as normal as possible.
