On the morning of 22/09/2016 I awoke as is my usual practice at 5am..Upon getting up to tend to my many animals and do household chores I became aware that my body would not pick up any speed and I easily became short of breath... I went back to bed several times believing that I was just tired.. At approx 11am I presented my self at A & E.
They took one look at me and immediately put me in a wheelchair and sent me to a specialist emergency ward.. Further test's were carried out with immediate effect resulting in me ending up on the coronary care ward.. Further tests and medication were administered.. Prognosis.... I'd had a heart attack and needed either stents a pacemaker possibly both...
The surgeon and their team were at my bedside the next morning at 9am..A full and frank conversation ensued with nothing withheld.
At 11am I was having the first procedure, fortunately no stents were required... I was then given the choice to immediately continue with the second procedure or wait a few days... By 2pm
I was back on the ward job done, pacemaker fitted..
The following day (Saturday) late afternoon I was discharged.
The friendly care and attention shown to me was absolutely amazing 10/10 in all Aspects... The staff and importantly the doctors and surgeons were obviously highly trained and motivated people who put me.
...
The patient first...
Thank you .....you not only saved my life that morning but possibly gave me any extra 20 years to fully enjoy... Which I am now doing... This last bit I'll probably get in trouble for but as I write this my life has started to resume, admittedly I am taking things easy but gym, swimming and dog walking resumed yesterday . light cycling will be added today.... What a truly excellent life this is.... Thank you all.....
