"ward A12"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital

I have just supported my brother during a stay in A 12 and was very unhappy with some of the practices that I saw there. I saw some poor infection control methods in terms of cleaning down beds for the next patient. Some nurses were unable to answer questions and I was not confident that they would find answers, in fact I had a lack of confidence overall. I saw one staff nurse who treated and elderly patient with a distinct lack of dignity. I am going to send in a comprehensive letter detailing my concerns about the current treatment but would not recommend this ward to anyone due to the lack of confidence I had in some of the nursing team which is a shame for the good nurses on the ward.
