"Traumatic experience"

About: Chelsea & Westminster Hospital / Maternity care

First off I would like to say the 2 midwives who delivered my son and cared for me shortly after his birth were great. Leading up to that point I was neglected my waters broke on the Ann Stewart ward and my contractions were thick and fast I was alone as the staff told my partner to leave and get some rest as nothing would be happening anytime soon. My waters broke and I was in extreme pain I walked to the desk where 2 midwives were sat with my waters running down my leg and the mucus plug to be told, "good things are progressing now go back to the ward because we are having a private conversation" I was crying my eyes out and screaming in agony to be sent back to a ward where other expectant mums are just having their babies monitored with there friends and family's with them and in full view of 5 different families just staring at me was the most humiliating undignified experience of my entire life! Eventually another midwife came to answer my screams to alert other staff I was crowning and rush me labour ward. I gave birth to my sons head in the corridor. To be honest I am completely traumatised by my experience at this hospital. It has ruined what was suppose to be a beautiful moment and I have to live with that. I'm very upset.
