At the end of July I was referred to the Ophthalmology department by my optician. I was seen by a specialist just a few hours after my problem was reported and had an operation under local anaesthetic early the next day. Nine weeks have now passed and I have been signed off by the surgeon with my vision almost as good as it was prior to my problem. I have been extremely impressed with the way that the department reacted so quickly and efficiently to the phone call from my optician, and the way that they have cared for me, in theatre and as an outpatient, during the last nine weeks. All the staff who I came into contact with were extremely skilled and caring professionals and I am most grateful for all their efforts.
