I'm a teenager who is insansely passionate about sport and my education. I've had trouble over the last 3 years with horrendous chest pains often being so painful I've collapsed.
10 months ago at ninewells they found that I had a hiatus hernia. Went back to my doctors and they refereed me back to the unit at ninewells who didn't even know I exsisted as they lost all my files and I'm still currently waiting to be seen. I've been refused surgery as it's not common for this type of hernia to cause such pain, yet it's damaging my life and I can hardly do anything. Basically been told to stay on useless medication for the rest of my life.
I think waiting times for this unit is ridiculous and. By the time I've been seen my hernia will probably be totally strangulated. I think the NHS and ninewells is a total shambles.
