"Ear infection now worst."

Went on Saturday morning to get some help as I had had my ears flushed and was starting to develop an infection. Got told it was definitely an ear infection and would have to buy some ear drops. The nurse wrote down the name of the drops and said I don't need a prescription as they are cheaper to buy over the counter. We went to one chemist. Who wouldn't give us the drops as they have Antibiotics in them so you need a prescription to get them. Had to them go back to the walk in centre to tell them we needed a prescription. They wouldn't give us one as the drops were definitely available over the counter. This was the same nurse from the morning. 3 chemists later all of them said that they couldn't give us the drops due to no prescription. The nurse when contacted again said to try ear calms as they were definitely over the counter. Then went back to another chemist to get the ear kalms where we were told not to use ear kalms on the type of ear infection I have! As I was desperate and in agony plus the nurse at the walk in centre had said they could be used. I used them. This has only made my ear infection worst and had to contact 111 and go to the Royal to get sorted. The infection is now a lot worst. All because they wouldn't give us the prescription that I needed in the first place. Would not recommend for ear related problems.
