"Excellent hip surgery"

My mother is over 90 and has been in terrible pain for months.

Finally last Monday she was admitted for a hip replacement.

All the risks and concerns were outlined to us but given her pain level she was keen to go ahead.

We were asked to be in the hospital for 7.30am which was a challenge with someone of her age and mobility, however having got there we were seen within 15 minutes and she was in surgery by 9am. The surgeon was excellent.

They have given my mother back her mobility.

She is now able to go upstairs without pain, sit without pain, move around unaided for the first time in nearly a year.

In less than two weeks she is walking smoothly (on her zimmer of course) and with legs of a similar length again.

My mother and I can not thank the surgeon enough for their skill, professionalism and care.

She stayed in hospital for 7 days, and I would rate the service 95% perfect.

We just wanted to thank everyone on the Richard Wells ward and especially the surgical team for their support and care.
