"New Service"

I was referred to the new project at Clinical Enablement service at Scarborough from the York pain clinic with Dr Spratt. This was to help with my mental health issues. First I had five sessions of one-to-one then attended group sessions of the First Steps course in Malton Next Steps café. Dr Spratt has help me tremendously she explained how pain affects the brain and the body, gave me tools on how to work though the problems and how to goal set. I cannot express how much better I now feel, I still get problems with anxiety, frustration and confusion but I now have the skills to work though them. Not only has Dr Spratt helped me but also my wife and family understand how pain can effect a person so much not only physically but mentally. The group session help also to understand what others go though plus gives you a chance to ask questions. Also I must mention the Mindfullness sessions that has help me keep calm and reflective.
