"Pre-Asesment debarcle"

I received a call from the pre-assessment team who could not understand me when I asked questions. The nurse said that due to my complex medical conditions, that were already documented in the medical file, I had to go for an appointment with an anaesthetist who would then assess me for surgery. When I made a suggestion of seeing an anaesthetist on the day of surgery the nurse then became very difficult and refused to deal with the question put to them. Then the nurse hung up. I then called back and spoke to the department sister, who was just as useless and again put the phone down. The surgery I'm supposed to have is to have my wisdom teeth out, Not rocket science. Yes I have complex health needs after an assault in 2005 from being baseball batted around the head leaving me disabled, but there is no need for outright rudeness or foolishness. The nurse said that if I saw the anaesthetist I would have to go away and then come back another time, at some point in the future when they felt that they could do the simple operation, but when pressed changed the subject. What a joke! and they say the NHS needs to save money. Don't make me laugh with this sort of behaviour its not surprising that the NHS is sinking in its own debts.
