On Friday 9th September 2016 my holiday at Center Parcs was interrupted by a fall on my resurfaced hip and trip to A&E at WSH. I was dealt with quickly and efficiently but sadly found to have fractured my hip. Hip revision surgery was required and I was admitted to hospital around 150 miles from my home town of Eastbourne, to which my family would be returning on the Monday next. Careful consideration was given to my request for a transfer to my home area for the necessary surgery but bed availability seemed to be a problem. Ultimately it was agreed that the surgery should be undertaken at WSH with arrangements being made for my transfer home, when ready, by hospital transport. In hindsight I am delighted with the outcome and would like to express my thanks to your wonderful staff for making my stay comfortable and successful. I owe a debt of gratitude to those in A&E, ward F3, the surgery team, the recovery room, occupational therapy and physiotherapist - you should be proud of them all.
