"Fabulous surgeon"

I am a bonafide needle and hospital phobic and left my shoulder become extremely painful before I sought help. I refused to have the dye injected into my shoulder for a decent examinination so the consultant went into the operation thinking I only needed rotator cuff repair. I went in for surgery at Hayle which was wonderful. The staff were incredibly understanding of my phobia and were calm and wonderful even while I was inconsolable. I needed much more surgery than originally thought and the consultant used their experience to just do it (knowing they may never get me back in for surgery again). I was furious when I came round as I was told I'd need 6 weeks without any movement and recovery would be a year!! I was devastated. But with help from the team and the consultant's follow ups and my pure stubbornness I am totally healed and have full movement. I have had absolutely no problems since. Need the other shoulder operating on now, but my confidence in the team and the consultant has made me approach this problem earlier, so that hopefully I will need minimal surgery.
