"very poor service and bad attitude of the..."

About: Bridgwater Community Hospital

on the 20th sept 16 took my son in due to fall in school gym,bad pain in his arm, was seen by a nurse after over an hrs wait sent for xray and then had to wait to be called again then was shown xray which showed a mark on his bone suspected fracture tod to go to reception to make app for Taunton fracture clinic and that we had to wait till 28th sept to be seen ? but the nurse that treated my 12 yr old was fine.on 21st had to go back due to school not happy that the arm was not protected in any way so we had to wait 1hr 30 min to be seen and then a diff nurse called us in and I explained what the problem was but this nurse just was not interested and just said keep him of school if the school isnt happy and the nurse was really obnoxious in their attitude and couldnt wait to get us out of there no consideration for my son and the nurse's attitude towards us both was disgusting just couldnt wait to get rid of us and my feeling was that we got a better service at the old hospital than what we get at this new hospital your kept waiting for hrs and the nurses just dont care keep you waiting for hrs and from what we saw only treat one or two people per hr and I am very sad to to say that the PPG group that I attend was involved in this hospital from the start with one of the Doctors there being on the committee.

Hello

Thank you for sharing your recent experience of one of our MIU's. I was very sorry to read that the visit to Bridgwater Hospital did not provide the service that you would have hoped for, and the Patient Advice and Liaison Service, PALS, would like to look into this matter on your behalf, however, in order to do so, could you contact the PALS service and provide some more information. We will need to have the patients full name, address and date of birth. I have shared your comments with the nurse consultant anyway, just for general feedback at the moment but if you would like a detailed response please contact us on Tel: 01278 432022 or email us at pals@sompar.nhs.uk

May I also take this opportunity to wish your son a speedy recovery.

With kind regards

Karen
