"My time in intesive care June 2015"

About: Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust

I arrived at frimley so excited to be having my baby knowing I was having a c section, nurses in maternity were amazing at reassuring me every thing will be fine and routine. Unfortunately this was not the case in theatre I had a massive obstetric haemorrhage losing 10 litres of blood, baby was fortunate enough to be delivered fine but left me fighting for my life whilst my family waiting for news.. I suffered a cardiac arrest and ended up losing my womb ending in hysterctomy but it was my womb or my life!!!! I woke in in intesive care with not a clue as to what had occurred, so confused and very poorly... The staff were amazing with my care and helped me get strong enough to hold my baby for the very first time.. Intensive care staff are so busy but often found them going that extra mile for me.. Can't thank them enough, the intensive care follow up team have helped me the most as its when you leave hospital and back in reality that things are hard on the patient they were on the end of the phone and reminded me many times I wasn't going mad and recovery was going to be hard they assessed me and got the right professionals to help me to get back to my old self again. Really felt certain staff do more than there job role and a credit to frimley park .
