I had a hysterectomy in Nov 2016. The excellence of the surgeon, anaesthetic staff and clinical staff was beyond reproach. The pit falls being cared postboperatively by bank staff and students. I was moved 3 times in two days to accommodate other patients. I am a nurse and once staff knew this I was guilted into moving. In the middle of dinner one day !!! Pain relief was poor but the surgery a success. However I have just been treated for another surgery but the same surgeon in Queens Mary' s Sidcup. What a completely different experience. Same excellent surgical care. The clerking in staff were exceptional and the staff so attentive. The difference between the hospitals was ward staffing. DVH is in need of more nurses. QM had plenty maybe the staff quotas need sharing out. DVH was much busier. I am so appreciative of the NHS staff to have supported me through all this and would like to say thank you to everyone involved.
"More staff please"
