"Reception Staff"

About: Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health

(as the patient),

I called to reschedule an appointment. Unfortunately I never received the appointment confirmation letter, so didnt have enough time to reschedule work. When I called requesting to reschedule, I was greeted by an incredibly unhelpful receptionist. She seemed incredibly cynical of my not receiving the confirmation letter, then proceeded to tell me I would return to the back of the waiting list, despite this not being my fault. She was not at all kind or sympathetic, and didnt bother to explain anything. Today, whilst at work, I still received the scheduled appointment call. The woman I spoke to rescheduled my appointment, meaning I clearly didnt have to return to the back of the queue as the receptionist had stated. While this might seem a small hiccup to that girl, it can be a major blow to somebody awaiting mental health treatment. The thought of having to wait another month or two for an appointment is incredibly stressful and concerning.
