"Booking appointments"

On 19th Sept I tried all day to call the clinic to book an appointment for my mum but was not successful, in the end I went into the clinic after work.

I was advised that due to their computer systems changing no advance appointments can be booked until after 15th October and if my mum wanted to see a doctor we would have to come in or call on the day to try to book an appointment.

As it is impossible to get through on the phone we would have to come in.

I was advised of different appointment slots that were available, however they could not be booked in advance,

I would have to come in/or call on the day to try to book the appointment.

My mum is 77 years old and someone needs to be with her to see the doctor, I work in Green Park therefore we need an appointment after 5.40pm.

I can not go in at 8am everyday (which would make me late for work) in the hope that I might get an appointment.

I imagine that on 15th October a lot of people will be trying to book appointments which means will not be able to get through on the phone and if by luck I do get through might not get an appointment until end October/November.

I understand that things have to change but not being able to book an appointment until after 15th October is absurd. Surely, if the computer systems are not working there should be a way of booking an appointment. I thought NHS where making supposed to be making an effort to look after elderly patients.
