I was admitted to a surgical ward following a night of upper right sided abdominal pain. I also have diabetes and my blood sugar levels were runnuing on the high side.
During routine admission procedures I had a tracing of my heart which indicated that I may be having a heart attack. I was seen by the cardiologist and had a further scan of my heart which comfirmed this within 30 mins.
I was then immediately transferred to the coronary care unit and within 15 mins taken down to the cath lab where I had stents and angioplasty. My care was first class throughout and I count myself very fortunate indeed to live to tell the tale as I am only 45 years of age.
This hospital provided benchmark care with a caring and human face and I for one am very grateful to all staff, doctors and nurses for the care I received.
"Excellent care for my heart attack"
