"I wouldn't be here without you"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / The Woodlands (inpatient unit for substance misuse)

(as the patient),

I went in to Woodlands a depressed, drinker with bad anxiety and no life and came out a Man with a future.

The service they provide with what little funding they get is miraculous, Every single team member I met was so lovely and caring and really treat you with so much respect.

Especially Dianne, Donna, Tony, and George (also a lovely Nurse with short black hair I think tracy? ? ? ? you helped cheer me up when I was down ) I wouldn't be here without you, I left 5 days early due to another patient who was aggressive but the staff was there straight away without fail and helped me with my decision to finish the Detox process at home.

They are really under staffed and this is through no fault of their own, each worker needs a medal!

The food is great, lots of variety, its like staying at a Premier Inn but with people helping you on a daily basis, They have groups when they have staff, When I went in every single person had their own story and you find yourself sat all together letting it all out so its like your all helping each other through what is a rough road.

I cant say how happy I have been to Woodlands ill never forget the team and my experience, just remember when you go in their....they are not the enemy they are their to help you! Treat them with respect they so much deserve.

Thank you guys

xxxxx

To 'the man with a future'

It was a real pleasure reading your feedback, a story that genuinely brought a smile to my face as its not too often that the staff team are rewarded for their efforts with such fine praise!

So thank you for this and I shall be sure to share your comments, particularly with the staff you mention by name.
It is however, a shame that you felt it necessary to leave earlier than planned due to the behaviour of another patient but great that you were supported in achieving your goals from the comfort and safety of your own home.
I'd like to take this opportunity, on behalf of all of the Woodlands staff team to wish you well in your continued recovery and thank you once again for your kind words.

Good luck and with all of our best wishes!
