"Fantastic Care at William Harvey hospital"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford) / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

My mother suffered a suspected stroke on Friday 16th April - the care from the paramedics, ambulance crew and staff at William Harvey hospital was fantastic.

From the 999 call the paramedic arrived within minutes, he was efficient and caring. He was followed very shortly afterwards by the ambulance crew, very friendly and jolly - just what the doctor ordered! Mum was treated with respect at all times. On arrival at the hospital she was immediately sent for a scan, by the time my sister and I arrived at the hospital this had already taken place - great speed and efficiency! The team in A&E were marvellous, curteous and freindly and we certainly felt mum was in good hands.

Everyone took care to explain what was happening and what the next stage would be.

Mum was found a bed on the Richard Stevens ward within a couple of hours and once again all the team on the ward were wonderful.

The ward, and all parts of the hospital that we encountered were spotlessly clean.

We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to all concerned with Mums care over the weekend - she was discharged this afternoon and the only "gripe" was over the delay in issuing her prescription and discharge form - a minor thing but when you are looking forward to going home the quicker the red tape is dealt with the better.

Overall, we couldnt have asked for better care for Mum - well done William Harvey.
