I had the opportunity to experience the NHS at its very best over a 9 day period in September. My surgeon showed me why they were so highly recommended. The surgeon's surgical skills have undoubtedly saved my life. The surgeon's commitment to their job was evident from the very long hours that they work. The team who looked after me on ward A14 were amazing. Everyone from the Sister to the cleaner were doing their very best to speed my recovery. They work long shifts and yet remain unruffled by all that is thrown at them, quite literally , in the case of some "confused" patients. The NHS costs a fortune. I do wonder whether everyone who uses it truly values it. I for one believe it is worth every penny.
