On Thursday the 15th September my wife was admitted into Smithers ward for a procedure to insert a Port. The procedure was successful, the doctors and nurses were as usual very caring and professional. My wife was discharged around 4pm that same day. But the real reason I am writing this review is because of what happened after she had left the ward.
From the ward we went into The Cherry Tree for a cup of tea, my wife at the time was fine, but after about 5 minutes she passed out. A gentleman at the next table called for assistance and for that action we thank him. In no time at all there was a team of doctors and nurses at my wife’s side who took over her recovery. They were simply outstanding, their care and attention was beyond anything we have experienced in our 70 plus years. There is obviously an emergency system in the hospital and I can assure you that it works beyond expectations. The team are to be commended.
My wife was then readmitted into Smithers ward where she stayed the night and was discharged the following day.
I know this was a team response but I should like to mention the doctor who was exceptional.
We thank the hospital for their exceptional care.
