"nothing less than terrific care"

About: Frimley Park Hospital (Frimley) Frimley Park Hospital / Clinical haematology

(as the patient),

Over the past three years I've had nothing less than terrific care from this hospital. Sadly their capacity means that I have not been able to receive the most 'intense' parts of my treatment there, but they've done the 'babysitting' and they've done it well. I was in isolation on and off (whenever I was a patient) and everything from being booked into A&E until I've been put on the ward; from being on the ward until my discharge or transfer, and even to this day when I attend regularly as an outpatient - it's been fantastic care.

Call bells are answered promptly, my treatment and condition has been explained. If I've been feeling down about things, I've been heard and if I've been looking for a laugh, a laugh has been delivered. If I didn't want my bed making there and then, so long as it was made before bed time, I was left to my own devices. If I wanted a shower, but not right then, I wasn't pressure into doing so there and then. The ward clerk did her best to get me Patient Line (TV) at a cheaper rate and dieticians liased with the kitchens because I am every parents worse nightmare: a fussy eater! (that and I just didn't feel like eating at all).

I am very very impressed with the Haematology care I have received and continue to receive from the staff at Frimley Park Hospital. From the ward clerk to the ward manager, from the nursing staff to the Consultants and his secretary - they're not only a credit to the NHS but a credit to Frimley Park Hospital.
