A+E was extremely busy I spent several hours waiting to be seen. This has become the norm with budgets being squeezed and patient numbers increasing. So whilst this obviously made me very anxious this was through no fault of the staff working that night. The complication required a urologist and therefore I had to wait on the A&E wing till morning as there were no specialists around. The member of staff who looked after me was extremely kind I never sadly got to thank them.
In the morning I was told that the hospital had just gone into a black alert which was causing the A&E several issues but the staff were doing there best. The daytime A+E ward nurse got me accessed on the morning walk around and I was taken to surgery within the hour. I was very fortunate to get such speedy treatment and must thank all of those involved for my positive outcome!
