"Better in 1950"

Years ago it was normal to get to the GP,s surgery early. First come first served. Now it is impossible to get a consultation on that day with anyone.Three weeks for a B12 injection."You may book an appointment online" fat chance! Years ago you had" your" GP Now it is impossible to see a GP on a regular basis "come back in 3 weeks " no chance, almost impossible to book an appointment with the same GP.It is important to maintain a relationship with your GP,you know them, they know you ,this has all gone.Arrange a phone talk after 6.30 ? If you have a modern phone that blocks callers with no identity & the GP leaves a message to ring back, well you can,t "the surgery is now closed" so unless the Doc phones back you are stuffed.Oh well phone for an appointment in the morning ,8 o,clock engaged ,,finally get through, all appointments taken, try again tomorrow. As I said to my adopted GP tonight "the system is broken" & it is .The one good point about this centre is the online prescription booking .As a parting shot the receptionist is wooden & unhelpful .
