"My mum tells me she is suffering everyday"

About: Heartlands Hospital / General surgery

(as a relative),

My mum’s been ill for a while. It all started with her periods going funny. She kept complaining but I feel that no1 would listen. Finally a year later she is waiting for an op. She has 2 tumours in her womb and so needs a hysterectomy- as it is not cancerous yet. Two weeks and an appointment letter will come they said. It’s been over a month after countless phone calls and visits we're now being told that no more appointments are being given out till 10th of May. Everyday my mum tells me she is suffering and is in pain and as the tumour grows the pain gets worse. She faints and struggles to breathe at times but I feel like they just don’t care that my mum’s suffering. In my opinion they are rude when you call them. I feel like to them you’re just a number on a list. Why do some people go into this profession when they don’t care about their patients? I hope that nothing happens to my mother because of this.
