"Absolutly disgusted at treatment today"

This is my 1st ever review about my appt today at neurology. After referal via GP to investigate change in symptoms occuring since another infection. We wanted to rule out epilepsy. I have a rare disorder of the autonomic nervous system etc. Many specialists are helping (supportive measures) as affects every system. I was expecting to see an epilepsy expert but ended up in psych 101 from a neurologist & room of 4 'students' (who i realised department id been sent to when got home) Been there worn the misdiagnosis until recently! In a major physical flair of my physical health conditions since many meds finally withdrawn including immune suppressants. Was hard to even sit today. I prepared event diaries as my mum hasnt witnessed all attacks. I've often injured, bit, had other episodes due to been upright. The dr wouldn't listen or let me speak, on seeing me was immediatly adament i didnt have epilepsy without me saying a word! On reading gps notes sarcastically said 'what am i expected to do' cracked jokes about 'i should have learned by now to stay out of the sun' as i said sun flairs me (immunologist helping) Waved my notes away when my mum tried to help me as i wasn't physically functioning properly due to been late for my next heart med dose & affects of bright lights in waiting room. Wouldn't listen, not interested when i attempted to explain rare physical conditions. Acted cocky in front of 'students' Im recently a wheelchair user a lot since we are trying to get on top of the right conditions and wrong meds finally withdrawn. All we wanted was to rule out epilepsy so i could engage with help for Complex PTSD via my cardiologist to help me if they are nonepileptic with the nightmare i've been through all my life with with the medical profession, misdiagnosis and how things progressed! Others may not be so fortunate. The dr pushed 'abuse' was cause of my health probs again me not answering, pushing, smirking which i have a physical diagnosis for! The drs attitude, disrespect, cockiness, lack of human empathy sickened me. The dr subjected my mum who accompanied me in my appt to the humiliation & insensitivity pushing her for very personal info in front of the 'students' silently watching. Thanks to the person who was kind in the room who helped jog my memory & treated me as a human being with my brain fog at the beginning! After the doctor kept pushing my mum for sensitive info in her personal life even goading when she was becoming upset i had enough, left 10 mins into appt to get us out of there and take my heart med to function better. The doctor said 'so i'll send your dr a note saying there not epilepsy?' I'm absolutly disgusted and this is the worse dr i've ever come across. The distress they caused my mum who is vulnerable too. It was my appt not her personal life. Thank goodness i have the right diagnosis i was clearly in the wrong department but the dr thought lets be cocky and not redirect me. Will never set foot in this department again (thankfully!)
