"My stay in the new QEUH"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow

(as the patient),

I presented at casualty with a swollen exrememly painful anckle, which had came on rapidly and I was unable to weight bare

I was admitted via casualty. The staff were excellent, thank you to Hannah (the Dr ) for all her care. Then I was transferred quickly round to AMR2', again thanks to Donna and her team, a superb SPR, (who took the time to come up to the ward 5 days later because he had followed my case to see what my outcome was) and the consultant who took the time to explain exactly what was happening.

I was transferred to ward 6a. the hospital and the room is absolutely wonderful and a tribute to the architects who designed it. The panoramic views alone must be therapeutic for patients, as was the individual rooms which provide a quite peaceful environment away from the hustle and bustle of the old nightingale wards.

Then under the care of Dr Porter and his team, Ashley, Claire, Graham, , Lynne (just over for the night for max fax) Linda, Lynne, Vicky only some of the names I remember, and not to forget Steven and Angel the domestics, I received first class care from the time I was admitted until till the my discharge.

two things I think could be improved are the bathroom towels and the porridge.

Dear Susi

Thank you for taking the time to post on Patient Opinion. I am pleased to read that you had such a positive experience whilst in care at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital from presenting at A&E, right through to your care in Ward 6A.

I will ensure your kind words are shared with the staff from the services that you have mentioned, especially those staff that you have named. They will be delighted to receive such positive feedback and to know it made such a difference to you.

I hope you are now recovering well at home.

Best wishes
Lisa
