"Do not recommend"

I visited the out-patient section of the gynaecology department at St. James' Hospital and left feeling ridiculed and insulted. My appointment was to see a certain consultant, however I was seen by another consultant instead - with no explanation. Never in my life have I experienced such a distressing, frustrating and insulting appointment, and all condensed into 20 minutes. The consultant seemed to have completely ignored my notes and heavily contradicted the advice of my previous consultant - as you can understand this was extremely confusing for me. They essentially wanted to force me to have treatment that I had expressed reluctance to have for many reasons already outlined to them. The consultant was unwilling to offer any alternatives, despite mine being a long-standing health issue. This was incredibly upsetting, especially as the reason have been having these consultations was to fix an error made by surgeons at the same hospital. There seems to be absolutely no ownership or even recognition of the problems here. I will also be making a formal complaint to the department about this consultant, and am now looking into private medical care.
