"Wigan Endoscopy"

About: Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust

having just returned with my wife from Wigan Endoscopy department, I am extremely disappointed with the result of the appointment. My wife was referred to Wigan endoscopy from Euxton Hall Hospital for the removal of a polyp in the rectum, as her consultant considered this could better be done at a larger facility. The result of the visit , after a 5 minute consultation, was that the procedure could not be completed due to my wife being distressed.

I feel that, although all the relevant details of my wife dementia condition were fully covered on the medical, this was not taken into consideration. After having 24 hours of making someone, with Dementia ready for this procedure, as a carer, this is not fair.
