"Brilliant Dermatology department"

About: Solihull Hospital / Dermatology

Having been referred to the Dermatology department with a suspected nasal BCC I was filled with trepidation. At my first visit I met a skin consultant who was compassionate and informative. Through my biopsy, second meeting with the consultant, meeting with a McMillan nurse to surgery everyone I meet showed the same manner making this journey easier. When it came to the surgery day I was, naturally, apprehensive. The nursing staff were brilliant and the surgeon put me at ease. I was fortunate that I did not require very invasive surgery and I am now healing well. The department is immaculate and everyone is welcoming. This is an example of the NHS at its very best.

Dear Tricia

Thank you for your comments regarding your patient experience in the Dermatology Department at Solihull Hospital.

I am so pleased that despite the trepidation you were feeling before attending, that you have found all of the staff that have dealt with you to be, kind, compassionate, informative, and that this all helped you to feel at ease and confident in the care you were receiving.

I will be thrilled to highlight your feedback to the Clinical Director for Dermatology, as well as the Matron who will both ensure that your lovely comments are shared with all of the Dermatology Team. Feedback such as yours helps us to know when we are getting things right and is also a great boost to our staff who work very hard to promote a positive patient experience.

I hope my actions are acceptable and once again thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback, it is extremely important to us.

My very best wishes to you in your continued recovery.

Kind regards

Marie Helebert
