"Annoying wait for follow up appointment"

About: Solihull Hospital / Ophthalmology

Having had a cataract procedure three weeks ago I was surprised not to have had a follow up appointment , I have just rung the ophthalmology dept and I understand there is a backlog due to staff sickness ? I hate to be negative because I have had an excellent experience at this hospital, but it is very frustrating , it must be for the excellent staff as well having to explain to people? It may sound flippant but I swim on a regular basis and I am nervous of swimming until my eye has been checked?

Anyway I am very grateful to have my eyesight restored and all staff are so pleasant and patient so I guess I will have to wait along with all the others!
