understandable a and e is for live threatening illness and needs to be prioritised- however as a career for my husband and understanding his brain bleeds and previous history a substantial hit on head and conversations with 111 and a medical nurse advised a and e - on arriving it was busy so braced ourselves for long wait - however mas evacuation of most on knowing wait times were 7 hrs meant surely it would be sooner - busy through ambulance service so understandable if still took time however I do feel a potential bleed on brain is life threatening- given two pain killers by triage nurse sat in waiting rrom for 6 hours seeing dental pain and new potential sprains taking priority so approached reception where a member of staff said we were next then scurried off and found us a doctor! I think in error they decided to say we had left when we had not- I cannot determine the damage without a ct - was it fractured or bleeding again I could not see in his head - symptoms already ongoing from march bleed so how was I too know- and lots of small traumas to brain are as dangerous as one large trauma - then doc shone an iPhone light in husbands eyes and said oh what shall we do with you - he has a parietal lobe haemorrhage and avm condition already so in my mind a ct was required hence our patent wait - what happened I took him home - it was only way to give him the best care - unprofessional no proper examination no visual field test strength test discussion ref pins and needles since head trauma nothing - we will se what happens next - the first time he had head injury this hospital sent him home saying nothing wrong and he had lost his visual field and ended up having serious seizure and a 999 call to be taken seriously! Good luck if ill - how a triage nurse can decide how serious with no discussion over history no examination of patient and no want to know what medication someone is taking is beyond me - I do respect the nhs and have experienced care in this hospital before but it is clearly over stretched and a lack in some areas of knowledge
