"18 month old daughter with fractured tibia"

About: Royal Derby Hospital / Emergency department

We arrived at a and e and were quickly seen by a nurse. We were treated by friendly and caring reception staff and nursing team were awesome. The waiting area in children's a and e was so child friendly and even with a broken leg Frankie was kept smiling. The Dr who attended to us was thorough and caring. The doctor was so great medically but also understanding of our concern as a parent. Such wonderful people skills and although couldn't not be certain if a fracture was present the doctor was right to be cautious. X day staff amazing and understanding also. Our fracture clinic appointment was made within 48 hours and care outstanding. A fracture was located and quickly treated. Thank you to the staff who carefully placed a pink cast on Frankie's leg whilst entertaining with bubbles. A horrible time for mum and dad but Frankie couldn't have been in better hands. Thank you to all involved

Many thanks for sharing your positive feedback with us.

This must have been a very distressing time for both you and your daughter and I am pleased to hear that despite this, Frankie was kept smiling.

Your comments have been shared with the Paediatric Management Team, who look after the Children’s Emergency Department.

Kind Regards,

Patient Advice & Liaison Team (PALS)
