"Life changing"

About: BPAS Richmond CC/Clinic

I came to the clinic at 8.15am I had a referral from another clinic and only after a hour did they realise I actually also needed to fill in new paper work never mind filled in the new paper work and waited to be seen. My first nurse I saw took my bloods and weight and height and was so caring when speaking to me, I then went back in to the waiting room second nurse then called me and I had my scan done to determine how many weeks I was and my reasons for the termination, the nurse then discussed contraception with me and what one I ideally wanted to go for if any they then discussed all terminations with me so I I could decide what one was best for me then back in to the waiting room I went I then got called again by another nurse who checked my blood pressure again, the nurse then asked me if I had eaten as for the conscious sedation I could have a light something to eat I said no to which the nurse said they could grab me something I said I would pop out and grab a sandwich anyways I then went back in to waiting room and the nurse said I would be called for theatre soon at about 1pm I was called to go up I got changed in to my gown and blanket provided and then it all hit me and I was in floods of tears I was no longer sure on my choice and the nurse was lovely they told me to take my time the nurse then asked me if I was sure and I said not really the nurse asked me how far I was and explained that I could always think about it again and rebook as this is life changing I said okay changed back in to my clothes, the nurse then walked me down gave me the biggest hug and then at reception also got the number for me if I need to rebook. The staff at Richmond was amazing professional and extremely delicate. I didn't feel judged at all yes the waiting time is very long but the care they give you defo pays off. If I change my mind there's no other place I would go! Carry on the amazing work Richmond team it doesn't go unnoticed especially when you've been treated so badly at another clinic.
