"I didn't really hit it off ..."

About: Pembury Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I didn't really hit it off with many of the medical team but the reason i am filling this in is because there are people that are barely mentioned. The housekeeping staff. On Ruth ward there is a lovely, kind, friendly and funny person who comes in early and makes sure that all the woman have a nice hot cup of tea, makes us fresh toast and stands for a few minutes to chat with us. After this they make sure the ward is clean but is never too busy to tell a few jokes and put the patients at ease. Perhaps making toast and tea and cleaning is their job but the comfort and friendlyness they bring to the job is above and beyond.

What could be improved

As an in-fertile woman i found sitting in the womans health centre with pregnant woman very un-comfortable. I have been in the centre several times and whilst i appreciate that pregnancy is a joyful time for the parents, somoene that has just been told they may not ever never have children might not share the joy od baby bumps and cooing over scan pictures.

Perhaps gynae and antenatal could be placed in different locations within the hospital.

Anything else?

Tell the housekeeper on Ruth ward that they are a star and i speak on behalf of many woman when i say that they brighten a lot of peoples days!!!
