My friend had an appointment with the team. He had thought about not going as his experience with mental health teams and different practitioners has left him feeling frustrated and not taken seriously. I advised him to try and give the mental health team one last go which he chose to do.
After his appointment he contacted me telling me he seen a guy called Danny. His own words were he was the best person he has ever seen in all his dealings with the MH team and he wished that all mental health workers were like that. I am thankful that he got to see that there are good practitioners out there who listen, genuinely care and are good at there jobs. It saddens me though that it's a lottery as to who you get to see. If my friend had not received someone who was not as understanding it would of led to him disengaging from the service.
My friend he doesn't have Internet access or utilise email. Therefore I would like to say thanks on his behalf for actually listening and showing him that decent practitioners do exist, even if you have to go through a lot of poor ones to find the decent ones.
