"PARKING"

About: The James Cook University Hospital / Plastic surgery

Parking is a Joke there is not enough parking spaces for the size of the hospital. If you are unfortunate enough to have to park in V1 car park be prepared for a route march to the South entrance. This is also not suitable for anyone who is not able to walk very far but dose not qualify for a disable badge. My brother aged 69 had to stop a number of times and sit on anything he could find to rest this also happened one very wet day.

Another problem is anyone who is distressed arrives at the car park then when leaving dose not realize you have to pay for parking before you leave the building. There should be more prominent notices reminding people to pay for parking before leaving the building these could be in the lifts and also on the entrance/exit doors.

Good morning

Thank you for leaving comments on the NHS Choices Website regarding car parking at The James Cook Hospital site.

I am very sorry for your and your brother’s recent negative experience with regards to the car parking.

Your comments and service improvement suggestions relating to the number of car parking spaces available and improved signage are very much appreciated.

Please contact me on the number below to discuss taking these issues further through the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) route, otherwise please be assured that Senior Managers for the relevant area will be briefed on your issues and the staff involved will be made aware of the feedback received from you.

Thank you again for your comments, and please accept my apologies that your recent visit to the South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust did not meet your expectations.

Kind regards
