What I liked

I was in Ward 1 from Feb to the end of March. All of the staff (nurses, health care assistants, drs, consultants, dietician,housekeeper, domestic, ward clerk, discharge co-ordinator), treated me with respect and dignity at all times. They were friendly, caring and approachable. A pleasant ward atmosphere and a sense of team support. Nothing was too much trouble and it was reassuring to know that there was regular contact with my care team at another local hospital.

What could be improved

The only issue which I have is that ward rounds are conducted at the bedside, behind a curtain and nurse handovers conducted in outside the bay areas. Neither of these practices maintained confidentiality and I found it uncomfortable talking to drs during ward rounds because of this and also uncomfortable when the handover could be heard.

Anything else?

General comment for the hospital; Car parking fees are too expensive.
